When he was younger, Richard spent much of of his time turning lights on and off in opera houses, cruise ships and small theatres.

For the last decade or so he's been ensuring other people can turn lights on and off in every possible colour. Ask him about octarine.

He first attended the Discworld Convention back in 2012, where he volunteered to help light the Dysk - and has remained in the shadows at the back ever since. He suspects that he might go mad without the applause as the houselights dim, and the stage brightens...
