Camping
After the 2016 convention, we're pleased to announce that camping remains an option, on-site, to the rear of the Convention hotel.
The field is divided into 100 two-person pitches, each measuring 4.5m by 4.75m. Toilet and shower facilities will be provided. Due to the layout of the field and the facilities available, only tents will be allowed — camping in caravans, campervans or cars is not permitted.
Many people like to make the most of their Convention experience by arriving early and leaving late, so as not to miss anything. As such, camping will be availbile from Thursday night through to Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, camping at other times is not possible.
Prices
- Two or one-person tent — £20 / night
- Tents larger than a two-person — £20 / night per extra pitch required
You should book your pitch through the accommodation booking process when it opens.
Camping together
If you are part of a party intending to come in a number of small tents who want to be located near each other, or you are intending to come in one large tent which will cover a number of pitches, you will need to indicate this at the time of booking.
Each pitch will need to be booked under a different members name, as each member can only book one pitch. One person can book for everyone if they are given permission to do so in the membership form.
If you are intending to book multiple pitches, please ensure you meet the minimum occupancy requirement for each pitch or your booking will not be allowed.
Pitch locations will be allocated by the Convention based on the number required per booking and the information provided at the time of booking. If you reserve a pitch, one will be available, but location may be restricted.
Checking in and out
Tents can be pitched from 3pm on the day of arrival and must be down by 11am on the day of departure, in line with the hotel room check-in and check-out arrangements. If you need an earlier set up or later take down time please contact our Hotel Team.
Facilities
A toilet and shower block will be provided around the corner from the camping field. Toilets and showers will be accessible 24/7. Toilets and shower blocks will not be step-free. If you need step-free access for camping, please contact our hotel team in advance to organise alternative arrangements.
Campfires and cooking on site
Campers are advised that no cooking facilities, nor camp fires, are permitted on site - this is for the safety of campers and hotel residents alike. Hot food and beverages may be purchased from the hotel.
For the comfort and safety of all members, smoking on the grounds is only permitted in designated smoking areas.
