What time does the Convention Start/Finish?
Officially, the Discworld Convention begins with the Opening Ceremony on the Friday afternoon, and ends with the Closing Ceremony on the Monday afternoon. The exact time of these events will depend on programme scheduling, which has not yet been finalised. We will release the programme closer to the event.
However there are often people who come the night before and organise their own activities, and there are usually things going on throughout Friday to help keep you entertained. This includes several items specifically aimed at helping first-timers get to know people and explain what exactly goes on during the Convention.
Many people also choose choose to stay past the Closing Ceremony to enjoy the notorious Dead Monkey Party which follows, and travel home on the Tuesday morning.
To facilitate these traditions, camping at the Chesford Grange and discounted room rates at both partner hotels will be available from Thursday night through to Monday night.
